Bus fares will be increased by 12.19% with effect from midnight today, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced.
Accordingly, the minimum bus fare will be increased from Rs. 27 to Rs. 30.
The fare revision follows recent increases in fuel prices, which have impacted operating costs in the transport sector.(Newswire)
