Joint Training Phase Commences in Kollam for India-Sri Lanka NCC Cycling Expedition 2027

KOLLAM, KERALA — Setting the stage for an ambitious cross-border journey, the joint training phase for the upcoming India-Sri Lanka National Cadet Corps (NCC) Cycling Expedition 2027 officially commenced at Vallikavu, near Karunagappally.

The 13-day preparatory training program, which runs through November 13, is designed to build endurance, physical conditioning, and strategic coordination among cadet cyclists from both neighboring nations. The initiative is managed by the Kerala and Lakshadweep NCC Directorate in coordination with NCC Group Headquarters, Kollam.

The joint squad comprises 14 Indian NCC cadet cyclists along with 10 support personnel, joining an 11-member delegation from Sri Lanka that includes cadet cyclists and administrative staff.

Following the completion of their conditioning phase in Kerala on November 13, the contingent will depart for Sri Lanka. The official expedition is scheduled to flag off from Colombo on November 15, covering a grueling 3,500-kilometer cross-border route that will conclude in New Delhi, where the team will be received at the NCC Prime Minister’s Rally in January 2027.
