Spectacle frames donated to the President’s Fund are also planned to be distributed free of charge to schoolchildren, university students, technical college students and low-income citizens.

Senior Additional Secretary to the President and Secretary to the President’s Fund Roshan Gamage said the programme is expected to be extended to all universities in the future.

He also said the President’s Fund had strengthened by 50% over the past two years due to improved management and that its benefits were reaching eligible recipients across the country.
