Travellers will be allowed to stay for a maximum of 30 days per visit, with the total period of stay limited to 90 days within any 180-day period.

However, the visa exemption will not apply to those travelling for employment, education, media activities or other purposes requiring prior approval.

The agreement is aimed at further strengthening friendly relations between Sri Lanka and Thailand while facilitating travel between the two countries.

The Cabinet approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs to proceed with the signing of the visa exemption agreement.
